Getting a Good Night’s Sleep

For working women who are so busy and stressed out, it sometimes seems to be hard to fall asleep. All those tossing and turning are signs that you are not able to sleep well. Instead of getting energized for the day, you feel dizzy and lifeless at work. Take note that sleep is a very important factor in our everyday lives. This is the time when the body relaxes and many other different functions in our body go to work.

Comfortable Sleep

When it comes to your diet, try to cut down on coffee. Even if you are able to sleep immediately as you lay down in bed, the effects of coffee are still at work. You will tend to be up in wee hours in the morning trying to get back to sleep. Without drinking coffee, you are able to get straight, long hours of sleep. Avoid drinking alcohol to help you in sleeping. Although it makes you tipsy and want to sleep right away, it has negative effects in your sleeping patterns.

Some people are fond of having siestas after lunch time. You should avoid having long naps during the day to have longer sleep time in the evening. When it comes to your bedroom, try to keep it dark or at least dim. Bright lights outside your window can also distract you when sleeping. Make sure that the curtains cover any external lights that may affect your sleep. Finally, try drinking some milk an hour or a few minutes before you sleep. It helps calm your nerves for a good night’s sleep.
